Hi Folks

As you may have noticed it if you watch me, I've just posted a brand new fan art devoted to Supernatural (yes again :giggle: ) and more particularly to one of the main heroes, Dean Winchester. You can check it here, if you want :

I must admit that, at the beginning, as you can see below if you click on the thumbnail, the drawing wasn't looking the final version at all.

First it was called "Bad Moon Rising" as a tribute to the song by Creedance Clearwater Revival (I almost had a kind of a "music orgasm" when I heard it on the show on an episode called Devil's trap (S1 x 22). Creedance Clearwater Revival at 9pm on Tv ? Come on, THAT'S "supernatural", more than all the monsters, wendigos, djinns and Lady in White visible in the program ! That's waaaay different from the pop crap I usually ear on television. Thanks Kripke for this and AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner, not to mention The Blue Oyster Cult and Bad Company ! ).

Second, as you can see it was vertical. The composition of the picture is different.

Ok, so why didn't I publish this one in my main gallery ?

Because it's crap, that's why :giggle:

I'm not satisfied with the composition (too many things on the pix, it's a mess with no coherence), the texture of the background and the foreground are too different (that's what happen when you use "the dry media brush" tool for the character and a "tree brush" downloaded on the Internet with a smooth texture for the set...), the colors are a mess (the highlights are strange) and I spare you what I think about the cheap "skull inside the moon" effect that even the designer of an Iron Maiden album cover wouldn't dare to use...

To cut a long story short, I decided to start everything from scratch to reach what I consider a better result. I'm not lucky with Dean. As far as my latest fan art was concerned, I had to draw Jensen Ackles' face 8 times as you can see here : I think that this "prototype version" deserves to be put on the scraps too..with all the rest of my "wall of shame"

That's it for this time.
Thanks for reading.
See you soon

Hi folks

As you may have noticed, I've just posted a new deviation devoted to Dean Winchester, one of the heroes of the CW show Supernatural. In my fan art the character is surrounded by flames, a reference to his little stay in hell ;) However I think that the "no flames version" is not bad either :giggle: If you want to check it out, it's on my scraps. Just click on the miniature below and you will be face to face with Jensen Ackles.

The guy gave me some hard times. I had to draw his face 8 times. I almost went nuts but I don't give up easily even for a stupid fan art. It took me one week but I'm pretty happy with the result. I hope it looks like him and when people saw my fan art they immediately recognized Dean Winchester from SPN.

As we talk about Supernatural it is time for a little fan art feature. Here are, from my point of view the best SPN fan arts on D.A. I spare you the wincest and shojo manga style stuff, sorry, I'm not into that, I prefer artworks where the boys are shown in a definitely more realistic way. Just a question of personal taste, no offense there. Talking about "wincest" and yaoi, I went to Shibuya's Mandarake this week (it's a big manga shop here in Tokyo) and you just cannot even IMAGINE the number of dojinshis devoted to Supernatural, you know those comics where the brothers are "together-together" ("The Monster at the end of this book" anyone ? :giggle: ). I wonder if that poor Kripke knew about 4-5 years ago he was about to create a monster, fandom wise...(Not convinced ? Check out the ranking on fanfiction.net concerning TV shows. SPN comes second with about 29,000 fics!!! It's insane !!!! )

If you think I forgot in this feature a truly incredible fan art, just let me know ;)

Deviant Art FAQ + Tagged

Hi Folks :w00t:

I saw the following Deviant Art F.A.Q on the page of Miss Electronic Rainbow (here : [link] ) ans asked her if I could use it for my own D.A Journal. As the Lady was ok with it here are my answers to that Deviant Art Meme !! :w00t:

Why did you join this site?

Two friends of mine had an account here. It was about 4 years ago. They left and...I'm still here :giggle:

I absolutely didn't know about that site but as I had like 55379879 drawings in my computer, so I thought it was a good idea to have people's opinion about them. Better than
let them rot in my big "Various Drawings" file.

What does your username have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favorite things, or a character of yours?

That's my nickname actually. In French "Petite Madame" means "Little Lady". As I'm only 5'2'' (160 m) , you can guess where I get the idea from ? Yeah, I'm Hobbit, but don't tell my Mum...

What is your current icon of?

That's a self-portrait. That's how I represent myself even if I must admit that, in real life, I don't have the same haircut at all. Thanks god

How many watchers do you have and how many people are you currently watching?

For the moment, I watch 78 people, while 1,110 people watch me.

Do you have more than one account?

Yes I have a kind of comic account here :icongribouillis-fr: [link]

As I've never really taken care of it, it has only 26 pages views. In fact it's a kind of English version of my French comic site Gribouillis.fr (link here : [link] )

Name 3 of your favorite artists on DA.

Easy !!

:icon333bracket: :iconelectronicrainbow: :iconcuson:

What deviants do you admire because of their personality?

- Heurchon because of his sense of humor and his kindness. I asked the poor guy to explain me quickly a photographic technique called "Long Exposure" and he sent me an incredibly long tutorial with all the details. Better than my Canon 400D user's guide !!

- Boshudolor because he was one of the first ones to support me here. It's been 4 years and he still comments and favs my deviations. Not to mention the fact that he has never forgotten about his dream to become a professional cartoon artist. I really respect that.

How many people on here do you actually know in reality? Post their avatars.

Not that many...Most of them are not on DA anymore anyway. They just posted 8 or 9 deviations then left. They were not Photoshop junkies like me who carry on drawing stupid stuff even 4 years after joining.

Do you comment, fave, or both?

I do both. I don't comment a lot but when I do it, I'm always very enthusiastic. I practically never comment to leave very bad comments. I don't see the point. If there is something I really want to say about a Deviation, I try to be diplomatic and relevant. Being too direct is useless, even if you use the right emoticons to make the person understand you didn't want to be actually mean or hurt his/her feelings.

What do you typically post on deviantart?

Mainly fan arts. Those little reinterpretations of today's Pop Culture are a lot of fun to draw. What I like a lot is taking a cartoon character and "turn" it into a real person. That's a little obsession of mine, I confess.

Do you participate in clubs or contests here on DA?

- Contest, twice. I won a CD full of Jem songs once. Awesome :giggle:
- Clubs, no. I'm not into that kind of fandom related stuff but I like the principle.

What is your most popular deviation?

My House MD fan art, it's been faved 2125 times. Even if I screwed up House internal organs... Vicodin in his heart instead of his stomach for instance. Not satisfied with the hands either but I still like it.

What's your favorite submission in your favorites gallery?

Holy crap !! Only one ? It's really hard. I think I'm gonna go for a funny one as I just can't make up my mind between all the incredible photos and digital art Deviations I have in my favorites gallery. It's called "OMG a branch!!!". It's a tarsier and it's freakin' awesome!!

What are the things you wish you could draw better?

Hands and feet. If only the human body was less difficult to draw...Yeah I know with "if"'s, you can build sentences as stupid as "If only Jared Leto could bring me my breakfast in bed every morning" and "If only Lady Gaga and Britney Spears could just shut up and disappear" but it doesn't lead you anywhere, does it ? :giggle:

Are you a subscriber?

Yes, and it hurts a lot when each and every year I have to pay 21 euros but I guess it worth it after all ! :)

How many hours a day do you spend on DA?

No more than 10 minutes because I don't really have the time but when I have to answer to the 565679088 comments in my DA message center I can stay about 2, 3 hours in front of my computer. I don't have the time to thank people anymore for the favs and the watches (too many) but I always answer to comments even if sometimes, it's like 2 months after. I think I owe that to Deviants who actually took the time to comment on my Deviations.

Are you a fast, slow, or medium typer?

Pretty fast. And I got better and better. But only with an AZERTY keyboard. I suck at writing with a QWERTY one. It takes me ages to only write a f**king line !!

What is the most annoying thing people ask you?

Not "thing". "ThingS" with a capital S...

- Can you draw me a fan art of....?
No, I'm not a fan art factory. I already don't have the time to draw everything I want so it's impossible for me to take commissions or to go for the now famous "kiriban" system.

- Do you draw yaoi fan arts ?
No, yaoi is crap. I had my "yaoi" phase too when I was about 15 years old, I don't deny it (we all have our dirty little secrets hum ?) but now I'm 32 and I still wonder how I could have been interested in that shit. Hormones maybe. Not to mention that I can't stand anymore shojo mangas (except X by Clamp mainly because of the color illustrations). I think you got the picture right ? So STOP sending me notes to ask me that !!!

- Can you do a complete tutorial of your artwork ?
Hum..No..Too long and I'm too lazy. Check out my FAQ ([link]) if you want answers to your technical questions about my artworks but a complete tutorial would be just far too long to create.

- Can we see a real photo of you ?
No, if I don't post one it's because I don't want people to see me. So much beauty and perfection would be too overwhelming for my audience, somehow....I think...:giggle:

I know those answers may sound pretentious and direct. I know that people are asking me all this because they actually love my work but honestly, it is really annoying. :(

What is the most annoying comment you get?

"You are just a photomanipulator. You CAN'T draw."
Yeah sure. You can count on that honey... :giggle: The fact that I actually use photos in my works doesn't mean that I can't draw...

What inspires you?

Everything. Mainly television. Pop Culture in general. I'm a geek and I want to marry Han Solo, that can explain a lot of things. Like the fact I'm just so obsessed with TV series, superheroes and Heroic Fantasy. I'm typically the kind of person who cries like a little baby when Frodo leaves for the Grey Havens in The Return of the King, who gets hysterical in front of the TV when Sylar starts to rip open Claire's skull (S3 x 01), and who split her side laughing when House shoots a corpse at the morgue just to make his point right in front of his employees(S2 x 20). And you didn't see me in front of the Big Bang Theory, The Dukes of Hazard (I want the car), Supernatural, CSI New York, Law and Order or even Mythbusters.

More seriously. Books too are a big inspiration. I wish I could have the time to draw a fan art of Anna Karenina or Julien Sorel (The Red and the Black) but I just don't have the time (yes, again...)

Do you use any traditional media?

Not any more because I moved to Tokyo and I have left all my acryl paintings, poster paints, pastels, pencils at home in Paris. There's too many stuff, I couldn't bring it
with me here and it would cost too much money to buy everything from scratch. Consequently I try new techniques to only use Photoshop. You can see my new way of using Photoshop in new deviations like Captain Harlock II ([link]) for instance. I don't have a favorite technique, even if I must admit that I miss my beloved poster paints. :(

Do you associate people online with their icons?

Absolutely. When people change their avatar, I'm completely lost.

Have you ever suggested a Daily Deviation?

No never. :consufed:

Everyone has considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?

Once or twice only. Bad people out there making silly comments, not even relevant. I don't give a shit about it anymore. After 4 years I'm still here and I have no intention to leave whatsoever. Sorry, I'm tougher than a cockroach :giggle:

***

I've been also been tagged by Heurchon (well not personally, but still :giggle: )

Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal. Ok, fine, then. :giggle:

1) The plane I was in almost crashed because of a typhoon two years ago (Fukuoka > Tokyo)

2) I have a real crush for 1960-1970 muscle cars and my secret dream is to have an orange
Dodge Charger 1969 with the Confederate flag on the top and the number 01 on each doors... :giggle:

3) My ears are stretched (6mm) and I'm planning to stretch them until 10 or 12mm

4) I can't live without the Internet and Photoshop

5) My first record was The Riddle by Nik Kershaw in 1984

6) I can't stand Hollywood recent movie remakes and I would like to see the heads of Michael Bay and Brett Ratner at the end of a pike...

7) I think that the most beautiful woman in the world is Dita VonTeese

8) I wish I could have a time machine to go back in 1987 and kidnap the young Axl Rose

9) I hate the sun. I'm always hidden under a parasol and wear big sunglasses

10) My grand Mother was into witchcraft and she would protect me with spells using eggs and mint :giggle:

I thing I should tag someone but that's boring. Let's say that everybody is tagged ;)

That's all folks!!!
See you soon on DA :w00t:

70 000 pageviews (and some features) !!!!

Hi Folks !!!!

I'm just so happy because my DA page has reached 70,000 pageviews :w00t:

Ok, compared to some big galleries that have like 100,000 or even more pageviews, it's pretty ridiculous but for me, that's something. :giggle:

Just to celebrate the event here is something I've never done before, a big feature of all the Deviants and Deviations I love.

Thanks everybody for your support, particularly LeChatGris, Boshudolor and Heurchon, who were here from the start.

Thanks also to the Deviants who faved my fan art of Gabriel Sylar 1184 times, my Dante fan art 1156 times and last but not least my House MD fan art about 2117 times !! That's amazing, thanks a lot !!! :blowkiss:

See you soon on DA !!
Cheers

THE BIG FEATURE

Digital Art

There are a lot of artists that I love on DA but concerning Digital Art, she is, by far, my favourite : Miss ElectronicRainbow. Everything in her drawings is amazing : colours, highlights, girls' eyes and lipstick, tattoos and clothes. Stunning !!!

Digital Art & Pop Culture

Here's a little selection of fan arts (that I consider as real tributes to today's pop culture actually) I found just amazing here on DA.

Some fabulous Digital Art Deviations

Photography

She's often copied (even by stupid copycats who stole her identity...weird!!! ) but she remains unique here one DA. If you don't know Miss 333Bracket's works, check out her gallery by just clicking on the thumbnails :

Photomanipulation

I'm just so in love with the photomanipulation of Bloodyadorable devoted to the Winchester Bros from the Tv show Supernatural. I love the guys and I love tattoos. Mixing the two together was just a brilliant idea. Check out her gallery while listening to a little bit of Bon Jovi because Bon Jovi rocks...on occasion (if you don't watch Supernatural don't even try to understand that joke...)

Pretty in Ink

No particular reason for this one. Oh, yes, one actually : girls with tattoos are just freakin' awesome. :giggle:

Paris will always be Paris

If you like Paris and if you want to see the best part of it, don't hesitate to take a look at Mr. Heurchon's gallery. His long exposure shoots are just beautiful.

Cats

What would Internet (and my life...) be without cats...:giggle:

Some fabulous (often funny) Deviations in Photography

LAST BUT NOT LEAST : Tribute (not the song by Tenacious D)

Some people here on DA (not a lot  ) have paid tribute to my work. It's now my turn to thank them for having taken the time to reinterpret some of my deviations. On the left the original work, on the right, the works by the Deviants, Jamin95 and BlOoGuear. Thank you so much guys!!

That's it!!!

PS : I said before that "Bon Jovi rocks on occasion". That was just for the joke. Bon Jovi, will never ever rocks, not even on occasion, not even if his records are the only records that remain on this planet...:giggle: Give me some Guns n' Roses instead and we'll be friends ;) ..

Hi folks ^^

As I told you last week, I had the intention to delete about 15 drawings from my gallery because they didn't correspond anymore to my way of working with Photoshop (or just because they were too old in fact :giggle: )

The cleaning is now DONE so bye bye old deviations!! :w00t:
