Well, let's go back to Resident Evil 2, following up on the original release Resident Evil (Playstation One). Here comes Claire Redfield to Raccoon City, looking for her brother (Which is understandable. Texting wasn't happening way back when..Haha). She and Leon are trying to get the hell out with Sherry Birkin. Claire, of all the characters in Resident Evil, shows great maternal instincts and she's a very loving and caring soul to Sherry and her and Leon get outta there and yay! Good stuff. Here's my point: Claire Redfield has never struck me as a REALISTIC heroine. Every other character is much more hardened, and granted, Claire becomes hardened, too, absolutely, but the little sister of the protagonist becoming one of the best characters? Maybe I'm biased, I don't know, but it just doesn't sit right with me.
